Rollin' On The River

Over the weekend we visited our dear friends, Alicia and Matt, in New Braunfels for a little R and R. She was determined that we float the river. You see, I had never done it. This was the original plan for my bachelorette party, but the weather was not quite hot enough. I think she was even more bummed for me than I was. Lucky for us, the weather was absolutely perfect this weekend so to the river we went. I can't believe I had never done this before. The San Marcos River was so beautiful and I've been missing out to say the least.

We sure did get a kick out of Tad's wristband. Oh really, Texas State Tubes? You're killin' me, but hey your tubes are pretty fun. I didn't take my camera on the river. I am clumsy enough with it on dry land, probably not the best idea to take pictures going through rapids. After we floated, we went to eat at the Tap Room in San Marcos. Alicia raved about their guacamole queso burger. Um, she was right. Definitely now in my top five favorite burgers.

So. Much. Queso. After our delicious lunch, the boys went night fishing and Alicia and I curled up on the couch to watch some movies. The weekend was a blast. Hey guys, come to Waco soon. We don't have a river to float, but we do have Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant and other foodie gems. Love love being newlyweds together!

Krause Springs

My dear friend Cariño flew in from Chicago this weekend to get a little Texas sun. We got a group together and planned a laid back trip to Krause Springs. We made the drive to Spicewood which is about 30 miles west of Austin. The waterfall alone made the drive well worth it. If you came to our wedding, you might also recognize our DJ, Jeremy. He's such a hoot.
After our swimming hole adventure, we ate at Jack Allen's Kitchen in Austin. Of course my camera died after taking that picture because I'm really responsible when it comes to charging my electronics. Just know the meal was extremely delicious and I'm a little sad I'm just now being introduced to this restaurant. We had such a blast and never get tired of driving through the beautiful Hill Country. Can't wait until Cariño visits again in September!

Galveston Getaway: Part Two

Tad and I miss this place already. A pool and a beach win us over every time. We also enjoyed being typical tourists in downtown Galveston. Still can't get over the beautiful houses and architecture in this City. Such a hidden Texas gem! We did get some rain on the second half of our trip. Instead of going to the beach, we went to to Jimmy's on the Pier to watch the dolphins play and the sunset. A perfect end to the perfect trip. It's also safe to say we're good to go on po'boys and seafood until next summer. Oyster overload, anyone?

Galveston Getaway: Part One

We took a getaway trip to Galveston to visit Tad's friend Alexander from law school. He is doing a clerkship there this summer and invited us to come down to enjoy the beach with him and his sweet wife Danielle. Boy are we glad we took him up on this! We soaked up the sun, ate entirely too much fried seafood and pranced around the island. I even practiced my acrobatic skills on the beach in spirit of the Olympics (wee bit obsessed with the sport they call gymnastics).

By the way, the humidity there was insane. My hair was not having it so that hat never left my head. If it did, I made Tad wear it so I didn't have to hold it. He was less than thrilled. He definitely gets a gold star for being such a trooper.

BACHELORETTE PARTY

My bachelorette party kind of rocked. I wanted something very relaxing and chill because that is my idea of a crazy good time. It was oh so laid back and perfect. Right up my alley. My friends also threw me the sweetest lingerie party a.k.a. lingerie guessing game. They named each piece and I had to guess who it was from. Then the groom gets to pick out what pieces to bring on the honeymoon by the name alone. Ladies, you'll never believe what he chose. We also poked fun of a new, trendy acronym. Watch the video and it won't be hard to figure out.

OUR COUPLES SHOWER

Ain't no party like a Ramsey party. Our couples shower was incredible! The decorations, food and thoughtfulness left me speechless. The Ramsey family never ceases to amaze me. Tad and I just love them all to the moon. We had so many sweet friends who traveled near and far to celebrate with us this weekend. From Dallas to Chicago, they made the trip to good ol' Temple. It meant the world to us. We're so very blessed with the most amazing friends and family.

Please take a moment to note the two creepers in the back of this next picture. Hint: one is me and one is Rusten.

Obvious foreshadowing of how fun the wedding will be? I'd say so.

MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING

I have no words. The day was pure perfection. There may have been a 70% chance of thunderstorms, but there was a 100% chance of love. I'm such a cheeseball, but it's true. Darn rain couldn't stop them. Alicia was so effortlessly stunning. She could've walked out in a paper sack and it just would not have mattered. Matt is such a lucky kid. I'm not going to lie, I couldn't fully enjoy the day until I gave my toast. I've never been so nervous. I wanted the day to be so perfect for Alicia. Just love that little one so much! Without further adieu, here are some precious moments from the big day:

Meet my dance partner for the entire evening. Sweet Betsy. We were attached at the hip, literally. I think I danced with Tad once and then let Betsy cut in. Pretty certain all of the Navarro girls stole my heart that day.

Oh hey Tad, do you think you could get a really great picture of me and Alicia? It's just I'm the Maid of Honor and it'd be nice to have an exceptionally good picture.

Gee, thanks. I'd be lying if I said this doesn't fit us perfectly, though.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Jones! Happy honeymoonin' in San Francisco!
