Twenty-Eight

Turning twenty eight looked a little something like this. I must say it was amazing having a low key celebration with family. My mom surprised me with the most beautiful cake fit for any mermaid. It was literally the icing on the cake to a perfect Birthday. The only setback was no one remembered to get the candles for the cake. Yes I did make someone go on a quick candle run. I have been waiting all year for that wish! Oh and Gypsy took a chunk out of the cake when we weren't looking. Whoops! Don't be sad about it, she sure isn't.

Put a Light On

We've been going to Nature in Lights at BLORA for years and love it, but aren't too crazy about waiting three hours in line. This year we discovered the secret to not waiting. Go after Christmas, of course! There were maybe four cars there. We were even able to walk around and enjoy the lights. Can't beat that.

Fun fact: The law firm Tad works at sponsored one of the light displays. I can't remember which one, but I'm going to pretend it was the one representing the gorgeous USA.

Am I the only one who gets flashbacks of Lite Brite looking at these pictures? I think it's time to bring that game back.

Gypsy Girl

Meet Gypsy Lou. Best Christmas gift ever. Thanks, Tad. This sweet lady is about four months old and has the prettiest fur you have ever seen. She is an Abyssinian mix and feels like a squirrel (I've never felt a squirrel, but you know). We decided on the name Gypsy because girl loves her Fleetwood Mac and feathers! She also loves eating my house plants and digging up the soil. Maybe she'll be an archaeologist when she grows up.

Gypsy was found when she was just a kitten on the street eating out of a garbage can. She was rescued and we are so happy to be her forever home. You might be wondering how Krycek feels about adding another cat to the mix. He was unsure at first, but he just can't get enough of her now. My heart explodes a little every time he helps groom her. I know, I'm such a cat lady. I'm not mad about it either.

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014

We spent the last few hours of 2013 with family, a fire and an aluminum Christmas tree with a spinning color wheel. What more could a girl ask for to ring in the new year?

2013 was filled with so many blessings, but it was also kind of a doozie. I have learned to take the good with the bad, trust Him and keep my chin up. I know the Lord's plan will be greater than anything we could ever imagine. I can't wait to see what is in store for us this year. 2014, please be gentle!
