A ZOCALO LUNCH

Over the weekend we had a delicious lunch in Austin at Zocalo cafe. My dear friend Marielle introduced me to this little gem. Let me just say Klifford is Zocalo's biggest fan. He never gets to dine out in Temple. Or drink horchatas.

Best part of lunch? Klifford made a little friend. Meet Bits Ruth. She was a doll. Couldn't believe Klifford didn't attack her. Always has the ability to surprise me that one.

Klifford went home to San Marvelous with auntie Kandee for the week. I was really nervous about letting him go, but I know she will guard him with her life.

Note: A little bird definitely pooped on my head as we were leaving. There's a first time for everything. Kandee found it hilarious and was very helpful. Minus the helpful part. I did not document this with a camera. Forgive me.

MASON JENNINGS LIVE

Being in the front row at a Mason Jennings concert, standing next to Tad, made me weak at the knees. And not just because I'd been standing for four hours. Tad got me tickets for my Birthday and we went to see him Saturday at The Parish. Such a cozy, intimate venue! It was my favorite date with Tad thus far. Tad has been making me mixed CDs since we were 16. Most of these CDs have Mason on them. There were many times he was trying to tell me something with his music and I was pretty aloof.

I've never been so emotionally overwhelmed at a concert. It took everything I had to keep it together. Pathetic, I know. We shared so many little moments and it was just the sweetest thing. Sigh.

Never heard of this fine musician? Give these little tunes a listen:
  1. Be Here Now
  2. Keepin It Real
  3. Raindrops On the Kitchen Floor
  4. Living In the Moment
  5. Sorry Signs On Cash Machines
  6. Your New Man
  7. Fighter Girl
  8. Butterfly
  9. Which Way Your Heart Will Go
Enjoy!

A COUPLE'S SHOWER

Oh my lands! Can't believe the little showers are beginning. Where did this year go? It feels like just yesterday I got the phone call Matt proposed to my favorite Alicia. The "Stock-the-Bar" shower got me pumped for more bridal festivities to come in February.

Aren't they gorgeous? It's a little ridiculous. They're also very laid back and hip. Yeah, hip.

Reunited and it feels so good. Haven't seen some of these girls in ages.

Well, Natalie and Holley look cute. Tad, we've done better.

Just love their beaming faces as they're opening gifts. So happy and so in love.

Isn't that little munchkin the cutest?

Oh and don't worry about me looking so concerned as the secretary of gifts. I blanked out how to spell words like "daiquiri" and "balloon" throughout the night. I'm usually a spelling champ. Too bad Alicia will never believe it after reading that list.

KLIFFORD'S FRIDAY AFTERNOON

Seriously, please be more angelic. Klifford spent Friday afternoon at the beauty shop, basking in the sun and cupcake eating. Yes, I fed him a little piece of a cupcake. Tad made me cupcakes for my Birthday. He also made me promise to keep it a secret because he was a wee bit embarrassed. Don't know why he's ashamed of being such a mighty good man. Yes he is. And yes, those are Salt-N-Pepa lyrics.

How could I say no to that face? I'm totally going to be that mom with the chubbiest kiddo on the block one day.

HEY, IT'S OK...

...To eat a Vitek's Gut Pak on your Birthday.
...That you already broke your New Year's resolution. We're creatures of habit.
...To listen to your new favorite song on repeat. All week.
...To still be searching for the perfect hair color.
...If you had to google Tim Tebow.

These may or may not be a few things I tell myself on a daily basis. Hey, it's OK.

NEW YEAR'S EVE

Ringing in the new year was oh so fun. It was about a party of 6, including Klifford himself. Our night mainly consisted of layer dip, jalapeno poppers and fireworks. Tad was super pumped for those fireworks. He was also super pumped to find the right shutter speed to capture 2012 with sparklers (I couldn't use his "2" because he did it backwards).

I'm so excited about 2012. My best friend's wedding. My wedding. A newlywed nest. I can hardly even wait to see what the Lord has in store.
