GRILLING AND SUCH

How beautiful was this weekend? We couldn't possibly spend the entire time moving. No way, Jose. I don't have an exact deadline to be out of the parents' house in Temple so that's definitely not helping speed things along. If I'm moved in sometime before May, that will be an accomplishment. Tad wanted to grill for my sweet mom's Birthday so we did just that. Grilling might be one of his favorite things. We're both huge fans of his jalapeño poppers. Not exactly part of the wedding diet, but ya know.

P.S. Just figured out how to do spell check on this blog. A little embarrassed of how excited I just got. It's in the little things.

A HOME

The cutest little view from our kitchen window.

Folks, meet the newlywed nest. After house hunting for what seems like ages, we have signed a lease on this lovely little loft. We fell in love with a house, but it just didn't work out. Before our hearts could get too disappointed, we found this little gem. It's kind of perfect for us. Great location, hardwood floors, SO much natural lighting, free water, and did I mention it's down the street from our favorite Pershall family? It sure is.

I move in this weekend and will hold down the fort until Tad joins me in May. Klifford will also be joining us after the honeymoon. My dad offered to keep him until then. Note: My dad is completely obsessed with that chihuahua. Don't know that I'll ever get him back. So there that is. We are a wee bit excited.

MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING

I have no words. The day was pure perfection. There may have been a 70% chance of thunderstorms, but there was a 100% chance of love. I'm such a cheeseball, but it's true. Darn rain couldn't stop them. Alicia was so effortlessly stunning. She could've walked out in a paper sack and it just would not have mattered. Matt is such a lucky kid. I'm not going to lie, I couldn't fully enjoy the day until I gave my toast. I've never been so nervous. I wanted the day to be so perfect for Alicia. Just love that little one so much! Without further adieu, here are some precious moments from the big day:

Meet my dance partner for the entire evening. Sweet Betsy. We were attached at the hip, literally. I think I danced with Tad once and then let Betsy cut in. Pretty certain all of the Navarro girls stole my heart that day.

Oh hey Tad, do you think you could get a really great picture of me and Alicia? It's just I'm the Maid of Honor and it'd be nice to have an exceptionally good picture.

Gee, thanks. I'd be lying if I said this doesn't fit us perfectly, though.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Jones! Happy honeymoonin' in San Francisco!

THE SWEETEST BRIDAL SHOWER

I  think bridal showers are my new favorite thing. I had no idea they could be so fun and exciting. Sweet Kathy and Marla really know how to host a party. The ladies went above and beyond with the planning and decor. Not to mention the incredible blessing Kathy wrote for me and Tad. I will always hold that near and dear to my heart.

It was so great to see our two families mingling. They're so great together! I received some pretty amazing gifts. What generous friends and family we have. Overflowing with thankfulness for them. I'm also thankful for the two new sisters I'll be getting soon. Love them (love you too, Kandee a.k.a. maid of honor). Oh and did you see Carter was at the shower? Sporting the cutest little tutu there ever was.

Already looking forward to the couples shower at the end of the month. Something tells me it's going to be a fun one.

COUNTDOWN

I just love how Chelsea captured us in true form in this picture. Awkward and awesome. Two months! Someone needs to pinch me because I don't even believe it. I'm getting pretty ansy about everything. Ready to be a newlywed with this man. One thing I'm just loving at this time is the amazing showers hosted by sweet friends and family. So blessed and thankful for their support. I'll be sharing pictures of my first bridal shower very soon. It was just darling! Can't say enough wonderful things about it. We also start pre-marital counseling this month. Wonder if Tad will finally realize what he's getting into?

Speaking of countdown, my best friend gets married in just five days! Please be praying for peace and calmness for her during this special time. It is such an exciting day, but there's no doubt it can get a wee bit stressful. I'm so very excited about her wedding. Even a little more than mine. Is that weird? Eh, she feels the same way.

*Tad corrected me regarding the Birthday post. He said his favorite thing is in fact me. I kind of knew that, but don't like to toot my own horn.
